MCRS was a proud sponsor of the first-ever Behind the Mask live music and masquerade fundraiser in support of community-based mental health held on February 22nd at Deerhurst Resort.

Behind the Mask featured upbeat and positive music from artists who have powerful messages about mental health. This was the first fundraiser of its kind for the region and proceeds from the event went toward the Parry Sound/Muskoka CMHA branch’s mental health and addictions programs and services.

MCRS is a proud supporter of initiatives that encourage positive, open-minded support of mental health in our society. Thank you to CMHA for the opportunity to participate!

Behind the Mask will feature some of the greatest upbeat and positive music from artists who have powerful messages about mental health. The first fundraiser of its kind for the region, Behind the Mask was the concept Canadian Mental Health Association Muskoka-Parry Sound client Ramona Brownell, producer of the show. “We’re so excited to bring together our local communities for a fun evening that celebrates the important role of community mental health and addictions care,” said CMHA Muskoka-Parry Sound executive director Diane Brown-Demarco. “We’re encouraging everyone to wear an eye mask, full costume or come as you are to Behind the Mask, where we’ll dance, clap and sing all night in support of a great cause.”

Musical director Glenn Bladon, DJ Explosive Device and other local musicians will play tunes from Fleetwood Mac, The Beatles, Journey, Tina Turner and much more. In addition to live music, this event will also have a marketplace, silent auction, cash bar and complimentary hors d’oeuvres before showtime.
